The IFOS Distributed Temperature Sensing (DTS) system utilizes several kilometers of optical fiber and an advanced signal processing unit to analyze Raman photon scattering data to determine the temperature along the entire fiber length. The fiber is typically jacketed in metal sheathing for ruggedness and enhanced lifetime. The cable can be deployed straight into boreholes capillary tubing or wound around tanks, drums, power cables or liquid, gas or utilities pipelines over long distances.
